Slice of Life 2019: Day 25

Today is the Feast of Annunciation in the Orthodox church. It is celebrated on this day that the angel Gabriel told Mary that she would conceive and bare a son named Jesus.
Orthodox Christians all over the world celebrate this day by eating fish! Tonight, we ate a big tray of pan fried tilapia! I prepared earlier in the day by making a big dish of roasted vegetables, wild rice, salad and fruit to accompany the fish!
After church, we all rushed home and chowed down!

Happy Feast of the Annunciation! It’s on our Roman Catholic calendar.. on this day, I would have done the Total Consecration to Jesus Through Mary — there’s a Mass held in my area — but we didn’t go this year.
Your post does well to make up for it some. I love finding fellow Catholics. 🙂
God bless!

I love the picture of the icon! I, too, am Orthodox (Greek Orthodox), but I didn’t eat fish (two of my three kids are allergic to fish), but it did remind me of past years where fish was the staple meal for lunch and dinner.
Wishing you a blessed lenten season.
